Quality Automotive Servicing is going to the dogs for Humane Society of Truckee/Tahoe

QAS is going to the dogs and Supporting the HSTT

Dogs! Is yours keeping you sane, or insane, during these crazy times? We at Quality Automotive Servicing understand the importance of pets and this week for our Full Circle Friday the QAS team is GOING TO THE DOGS.

We are proud to recognize and support our local Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe with a donation for their food pantry. Here’s how you can help…

Email us and tell us about your pet story. How is your bond with an animal getting you through the Covid-19 crisis? For each story we will donate $5 to the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe. We don’t know what we will do with the stories, but if you have a suggestion let us know, we are all ears.

ROSEBUD (Bud): Lab, 7 years

The other day she was licking the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. As I told her to “leave it”, she got her collar stuck on the fully loaded bottom rack. In a panic she managed to lift the rack out of the dishwasher and drag it across the floor leaving a trail of broken dishes.

REMI: Mini Poodle/Lab mix, 2 years

It’s always amazing how excited to see us he is. You can be gone two hours or two minutes and the welcome home is the same; tail wags, licks and jumping all around.

HOOPER: Bulldog/Border Collie mix, 4 years

Finally out of the chewing stage, Hooper now cuddles with her life-sized unicorn which has become his best friend. She is looking forward to spending time at the Donner Lake docks this summer.

ZIRA & CARTMAN: Pitbull Mastiff Mix, 6 years

This brother sister duo was reunited after 5 years of being apart and now are inseparable. Zira has taught her brother what family is all about. Whether it is cuddling by the fire or zooming around the yard with one another, they couldn't imagine life apart.

Bud, Remi, Hooper, Zira and Cartman thank your for reading and bring you this message from the Humane Society of Truckee/Tahoe.

The economic impact of COVID-19 will sadly result in an uptake in animal relinquishments from within our community due to financial hardship and changes in housing caused by that hardship. In our animal-loving area, the decision to rehome a pet is heartbreaking and sad. HSTT is here to help pet owners through that selfless process by providing medical care, healthy food and a safe, warm place to live for every pet that comes our way. The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) needs your financial support to prepare to help our community caringly rehome their pets when necessary. Additionally, your contributions will help community members care for their pets during these trying times with help from our free Pet Pantry food distribution program and, once we return to normal operations, through our Wellness Clinics providing free vaccinations and microchips to animal owners in need. Our goal is to provide all the support we can in order to keep pets in their homes with the people who love them, however, we need to be prepared to rehome an increased number of pets over the coming months.

Don't forget to email us with your story or post it in the comments on our Facebook page.
